Woman Detained For Constantly Caning 1 Year-Old

Police swung into action and arrested Nansubuga from her home and took them to the police.

Police called the child’s father, Lawrence Kirumira, a boda boda rider, arrested and detained him as well.

The two were charged with child abuse under case number SD 80/12/05/2014 as further investigations into the matter follow.

In other crime news, police have given boda boda riders who abandoned their permits at various police stations to report within two weeks.

Police’s traffic department has been issuing express penalty tickets to those who commit traffic offenses.

According to police, most people do not pay the tickets, they leave the permits with officers, claiming that they lost them so that they can be served new ones.

“We are going to publish all the particulars of driving permits that we have and have stayed for a long time. So, we call upon all those who left their permits with us to pay up in a maximum of two weeks,” said Patrick Onyango, the Police Spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan.

Onyango adds that they will institute investigations on how face technology gives new permits to people without first checking with police, to really find out whether the person is legible for a driving permit.

On most of the police station a number of driving licenses have been left with officers, but Onyango warned to apprehend all those who dodged the penalty.
