The function is scheduled for July 2014 at Imperial Resort Hotel in Entebbe.

This was revealed by Mr. Joshua Kitakule, the Secretary General, Inter Religious Council Uganda in a meeting with Hon Asuman Kiyingi, Minister of State of Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Cooperation in Mweya Boardroom at Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Joshua Kitakule was leading a delegation of members of the organizing committee for the summit.

The summit is expected to be graced by Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta and Liberian leader Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.


Kitakule said all heads of religious denominations from Africa and beyond are expected to attend the summit to be held under the theme: “Enhancing Faith Communities. Engagement on the post 2015 Development Agenda in the Context of the Rising Africa.”

Mr. Kitakule said that summit is intended to harmonize and adopt Africa’s common position in the post 2015 development Agenda.

He further said Africa’s religious leaders recognize and welcome the upcoming UNGA Presidency as Africa’s opportunity
