Two security guards were on Sunday night killed by unidentified thugs in Bugangari Sub County, Rukungiri district.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi regional police spokesman identifies the dead as Brain Tumubwaine, who was working with Security 2000 and another local guard Fred Rutarindwa.
These were deployed at Compassion International offices Bugangari branch at Bugangari church of Uganda, North Kigezi diocese.
Maate says the bodies were discovered in the wee hours of the Monday morning by people who were passing by the church.
He says that the thugs after killing the two, broke into the NGO’s offices but never took anything with them.
Even the gun of one of the guns, an MK4 no. 32088 was found intact at the scene of crime.
Robert Mubangizi, a parishioner at the Bugangari church of Uganda said the assailants could have been targeting money and other items given out by donors to children under Compassion International.
