New Uneb Chair, Akwakol, Faces Tough Times

cure geneva; font-size: small; line-height: 200%;”>Prof Akwakol, unhealthy also the Vice Chancellor of Busitema University, yesterday officially replaced Mr Fagil Mandy who resigned from the same position.

According to the Uneb publicist, Hamis Kaheru, the board renewed the current Executive Secretary, Mathew Bukenya’s contract until November 2015 when he will be replaced.

Bukenya’s term expired in December 2012 and was supposed to be replaced by John Bosco Ntangaare, the Chief Examination Officer at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants ICPAU.

He was instead reinstated by President Museveni over and over again, something that prompted the then Chair Mandy to resign.

Meanwhile, Prof Okwakol has a duty to find a competent and capable person to fit in Mathew Bukenya’s shoes.

Bukenya’s tenure has registered very many achievements ranging from reduced examination malpractices and real time delivery when it comes to examination results.

It is for such reasons that the President doesn’t seem to let go of the aging Bukenya.

Finding someone who will inherit this legacy perfectly well may not be an easy task for the Busitema professor.
