The Ministry of Health has on Monday confirmed 197 new COVID-19 cases in Uganda bringing the cumulative total number of confirmed infections in the country to 31,384.
“Results from COVID-19 tests done on 20th December 2020; 197 new COVID-19 cases confirmed. The cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 31,384,” the Health Ministry announced.
The new cases include 194 contacts and alerts and 3 truck drivers.
These include; 133 from Kampala, 21 from Mbarara, 13 from Wakiso, 8 from Gulu, 4 from Rubanda, 4 from Luwero, 4 from Jinja, 2 from Bukedea, 2 from Serere, 1 from Amuru, 1 from Adjumani, and 1 from Tororo.
Of the 3 truck drivers who tested positive for COVID-19, 2 arrived from Malaba and 1 from Elegu.
7 new COVID deaths have been registered.
Currently, Uganda has a cumulative total of 31,384 COVID-19 confirmed cases, 10,549 recoveries and 238 fatalities.
