The Clerk is expected within 24 hours of receipt of the list of the petitioners; to forward the notice to the House for the tabling of the matter.
It is noted, however, that the House may pass a resolution to remove Zziwa from office should the required number of legislators from all the five East African Community (EAC) member countries sign in support of the motion.
It is believed that the Rules of Procedure require that the Speaker shall not preside over the proceedings of the Assembly given the fact that the matter addressed would be against her.
Meanwhile, Fred Mukasa Mbidde, a member of the Committee on Legal, Rules and Privileges that is supposed to investigate and report its findings to the House concerning the matter, has already petitioned court for an injunction over the same.
While addressing the press on Tuesday at the DP headquarters, Mbidde strongly warned anyone tampering to issue any statement regarding the same subject since the matter is before court.
Mbidde asserts that the action which was soon to be undertaken by the assembly contravenes with the rules and procedures which govern the assembly.
