This annual event is focused on celebrating contemporary African musicians, producers, songwriters, music promoters, record label owners, music marketers, DJs, MC’s music video producers, radio and T.V stations, entertainment journalists, promoters, and broadcasters.

Its target is to create awareness of music of African origin, to promote African music to the western world and to solicit support for the marketing and promotion of African musicians.

The theme is “Mercy World,” and is dedicated supporting charity work in Africa particularly with children.

The Awards shall kick off with a live music performances featuring selected African Musicians before the Awards presentation to be anchored by renowned entertainment impresarios.


J. Martins, a popular African musician, music producer and record label owner is the Host for this event.

Performances for the day will be about 10 acts with J. Martins, the host, also performing.

Nominations started December 30 2013 and voting kicked off on March 15, 2014.
