“The alleged mother registered herself at the lodge reception as Nalubega Hadija from Kampala heading to Kasese district. She checked in at 10:00pm on March 13,” revealed Bakari.
Bakari noted that the children were found by the workers during their morning routine check-ups who also discovered that the two children a boy and a girl are approximately one year and one and a half, respectively.
He added that the children are now currently kept at the Fort portal police station as investigations are still going on into the weird act.
“After waiting in vain for the mother to come back, the proprietor of the lodge Ms. Rose Mugera decided to bring the children to police. Our Children and Family Protection Officer corporal Namyalo Hadija is currently taking care of the children with a view of handing them over to Tooro Babies Home which is based in Fort portal, to grant the babies a temporary custody as we are looking for the mother and relatives.”
