Kayihura Introduces Political Education In Police

visit geneva; font-size: small; line-height: 200%;”>“Training is the life blood of any health institution, diagnosis it’s good that CID is now very aggressive in training their personnel,” Uganda Police IGP said these while closing two courses of Anti-Narcotics and Homicide at Police Training School, Masindi last weekend.

He said that Ugandans have become so violent that Uganda Police Officers cannot rely on batons.

He said that to overcome the violence and urban terrorism, the Police have to build capacity and capabilities in ideological reorientation of the Police.

“Police Officers should be good students of society, should master political economy,” he said.

The IGP launched teaching of Political education in all the Police Training Schools.


He handed over copies of the President’s speeches on Political education and other instructional materials to the Commandant Police Training School, Masindi ACP Moses Kafeero.

Gen. Kayihura also toured the training camp of Special Field Force Police who are undergoing training at Masindi.

The Officers were drawn from Kampala Metropolitan Police and they have undergone intensive training for the past 6 months.

IGP said that he was happened with the group that when they complete their training they will help with keeping security in Kampala, rioters and urban terrorism.
