This follows a petition filed by a group of Christians representing a cross-section of Christians through their Lawyers Allan Tumwesigye and Beingana of Tumwesigye and Beingana Co. Advocates seeking an injunction for the enthronement of the new Bishop Can. Eng. George Bagamuhunda affirming that there was a violation of the church constitution during the election process.

Rev. Bagamuhunda’s enthronement is scheduled to take place on January 19, 2014 at Rugarama cathedral in Kabale where President Yoweri Museveni is expected to be the guest of honour.

The main suit will be heard on Wednesday January 22, 2014.

There has been a series of wrangles in Kigezi church after Christians opposed the new bishop elect whom they accuse of being a puppet of the outgoing bishop Rt. Rev. George Katwesigye whom they too accuse of favouritism by forwarding his Basigi clan mates as the clergy.

They also claim that he is incompetent in church too.
