After being hit, the planes aborted the mission and returned to Entebbe airport in Uganda where they had earlier landed.

The wounded service men were rushed to Nairobi for treatment.

Now, reports from Nairobi indicate that one of the wounded has worsened and had to be transferred to another medical facility, Landstuhl.

The Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) is an overseas military hospital operated by the United States Army and the Department of Defence.

LRMC is the largest military hospital outside of the continental United States.

It is located near Landstuhl, Germany, and serves as the nearest treatment center for wounded soldiers coming from Iraq and Afghanistan.

In addition, it serves military personnel stationed in the European Union as well as their family members.

A large proportion of serious casualties from the Iraq and Afghanistan theatres are treated here, flown in via Ramstein Air Base.

Back to the South Sudan situation, we have also learnt that the Kenyan government has set up a S. Sudan Crisis Management center based at ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Meanwhile, two planes from Kenya Airways are also said to be heading for South Sudan to pick more people stranded in Juba.
