This time round, KCC has a chance to dictate the pace of the game since they will first play from Sudan before playing their return leg in Kampala.
If KCC eliminates El Merrikh, it will be taking on the winner between Zambia’s Nkana and Swaziland’s Mbabane Swallows.
KCC again will be in line to play against Egypt’s giants, Zamalek, only if the two teams (KCC and Zamalek) can overcome their first huddles.
Meanwhile, SC Victoria University has also been drawn to Don Bosco of DR Congo in the CAF Confederations Cup and the first leg will be played in Uganda before the return-leg in two weeks time.
A total of 52 clubs were drawn into fixtures to take part in next year’s CAF Champions League.
All the CAF competitions on club level have been scheduled to start in February after the CHAN Championship in South Africa, early next year.
