Grade one magistrate, Julius Barore issued criminal summons against the two leaders affirming that they appear in court on December 19 or another action be taken against them.

The two were arrested in November, from their homes and later produced in court after spending over 48 hours in detention as they were held at Jinja Road and Kira Road police stations, respectively.

Prosecution, led by the resident state attorney, Martin Rukundo alleges that the two and others still at large held themselves as members of For God and My Country (4GC) at Katonga road on July 19.

The two were represented by Medard Sseggona and Abdu Katuntu.

They pleaded not guilty and were freed on a non-cash bail of Shs 40 million.

However, Katuntu asked court to quash the charge sheet before trial, arguing that his clients had spent over 48 hours in custody and were briefly held at their residences, acts that violates the Constitution.

However, Rukundo asked for more time to respond to this, saying he had been ambushed with the request.
