UTAMU Don Wins Procurement Award

Ajedra Gabriel Gadson Aridru, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Uganda on Friday 29th November 2013 in Kampala at an annual dinner organised by the Institute of Procurement Professionals of Uganda (IPPU).

According to the criteria for choosing the winner as per the IPPU guidelines, Basheka was chosen for the award because of his contribution to procurement knowledge through journals, publications and scholarly articles in the procurement discipline.

Two other dons from Uganda Management Institute (UMI) and Kyambogo University were nominated for the same award, but UTAMU’s Prof. Basheka emerged winner given the immense experience he has acquired over the years.


Prof. Venancius Baryamureeba, Vice Chancellor UTAMU, hailed Basheka for winning the prestigious award.

“I am glad that our quality staff are recognised in such professional circles; Our capacity in the procurement discipline is no doubt the best in the country so far. Indeed we are on our way to being the best educational institution not only in Uganda but the whole world,” Prof. Baryamureeba said.
