Upcountry: Boda Boda Man, 27, Burnt To Ashes

website geneva; font-size: small; line-height: 200%;”>It is reported that the deceased, and a one Gadi Twebaze, more about 27, a resident of Rushebeya village, Burambira parish, Kaharo Sub County was murdered by an angry mob on allegations that he was part of the gang which has been terrorising the residents and stealing domestic animals.

The Kigezi regional police spokesperson, Elly Matte, said that the incident happened on the night of December 1, at around 11:00pm while at Nyanja trading center, Nyanya parish, Maziba Sub County when a group of people dragged the deceased from Thomas Ntwirenabo’s bar at Karehe trading center and burnt him there and then.

“This came after he was implicated by another suspect, one Stephen Asiimwe, currently detained at Maziba police post, for stealing animals,” Matte said.

He added: “Police visited the scene with the Doctor and a post-mortem was done. Efforts to arrest those involved in this act have been employed.”


Matte also implored that “whoever has information that can lead to the whereabouts of those involved in the mob, should volunteer it to police so that they are brought to book”.
