Kabale: Residents Security-Alerted as Festive Season Nears

“When you don’t unite in all wards of Kabale Municipality and work as a team to identify such people who live in their areas without being reported to the authorities, they will continue doing their criminal acts in the municipality,” Byamugisha said.


Recently, a Kabale doctor working at Makanga referral hospital a one Dr. Solomon Mugume was seriously beaten and his hand cut with a panga by unidentified thugs as he returned from work late in the evening.

Dr. Mugume said that the panga wielding thugs attacked him at the hill leading to Makanga Hospital and his hands were cut off as they tried to take his phones.

The Kigezi regional police commander, Olivia Rose Mary Wawire, has also called upon the people to be vigilant and security-alerted as the festive season nears, affirming that the thugs use this chance to steal peoples’ property and claim their lives sometimes.

She also appealed to the residents to stop compromising with unknown people who come silently to live in their areas without being reported to the relevant authorities.
