As a practical step towards their firm relations, Rwanda and Kuwait signed a deal for the said loan which will come from the Kuwait Fund for Arabic Economic Development.

As per the theme of the summit, Kagame and the Emir discussed strategies for investment and agriculture, calling for the implementation of economic cooperation through joint free trade zones, investments in infrastructure and the elimination of trade barriers.

With a strong focus on economic growth, this year’s summit was preceded by the Africa-Arab Economic Conference which brought together leaders in the private and public sector from both regions.

The 3rd Africa Arab summit will focus on the role of economic cooperation for sustainable development.

The summit will also discuss the activity report of the African Union Commission and the Secretary General of the League of Arab State as well as adopt the Kuwait resolution.

Over 60 countries have confirmed their participation in the 3rd Africa Arab Summit including 34 Presidents.

The two-day summit begins Tuesday. It is the first to be held outside of Africa following the first held in Egypt and the second in Libya.
