The game that started at 4pm and ended at 6pm, attracted hundreds of Ugandans from all walks of life who flocked Mandela national stadium, Namboole to support the national team.

Our ChimpCorps who watched the match live at Namboole; have reported that the cranes actually had no big motivation to win the game since it was just a friendly match.

The Cranes were captained by Emmanuel Okwi who replaced the retired Andrew Mwesigwa.

Tensions mount as ball nears the goal

In the goal, was the famous spider Benjamin Ochan who witnesses say just stood there enjoying himself since no balls were coming to his goal.

However, Francis Olachi and Simon Okwi missed the game since they were suffering from injuries.

The Cranes will now start their preparations for the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup to be held in Kenya.

Today’s result is, in one way or the other, similar to the last result from a friendly held in Rwanda at Amahoro stadium which ended in a 2 all draw.

It wasnt easy on either side

The Namboole game was officiated by Tanzanian referees; Charles Mujuni, Hamis Changwalu and Kinduli Mgazally.

Both Uganda and Rwanda are in the same group which they share with Eritrea and Sudan.
