Ssenkumbi identified the suspects as Emmanuel Kityo, a resident of Kawala in Lubaga and Kadu Waswa of Kibuli, who are now being held at Central Police Station, on charges of murder and robbery.
“The two have been sighted in the hit and run robberies and they mainly target jewelry that ladies put on; especially gold necklaces, which they say that, they sell out at a fee ranging from 200,000 to 500,000 shillings, depending on the grams of the jewelry.”
Ssenkumbi further reveals that the two are also suspected to be connected to the robbery at Nakasero market on Sunday, last week, where a lady’s hand bag containing 500,000 shillings was snatched.
The duo confessed that they have been stealing for the last five years in areas of Market street, Burton street, William street and they say that after a good day, they sell their stolen stock in Mutasa Kafero mall.
