Uganda Set For Agriculture Symposium

He stressed that the symposium was formed to create a non- political platform from which East African countries could meet and share knowledge concerning development as well as agriculture.

Moses Mukiibi, the President the trust explained this year’s event will attract more than 300 participants from all over East Africa with youth, technical and the high level conferences.

“This has been organized to explain to the public, the role played by agriculture in supporting human life not forgetting the fact that 80% of the population in Uganda depends on Agriculture,” he noted.


Mukiibi further stressed that on November 4, youth will be lectured on how to change from small scale agriculture to profitable large scale farming.

“On Tuesday November 5, President Museveni will officially open the technical symposium expected to run up to November 7 2013. Through this conference, experts will be able to examine different forms of agriculture starting from production to consumption,” added Mukiibi.

The Kilimo Trust President stressed that the conference will be in line with fulfilling the vision 2040 were commercial farming as one of the ways to improve on people’s income will be encouraged.
