Meanwhile, with few days to the UMA exhibition at Lugogo, Kampala, Ssenkumbi has called upon the organisers to ensure maximum security at the function, adding that terrorists take advantage of large gatherings to detonate explosives.


“Since the show attracts foreign exhibitors, security will make a sweep and more critical checks will be put up while vehicles will not be permitted inside and a bigger number of officers will be deployed,” explained Ssenkumbi.

He further appealed to the public to be on the look for any suspicious person and luggage that may become a security threat.

“People should alert police immediately in case of any danger,” advised Ssenkumbi.

At least 62 people were killed and almost 200 injured in the Westgate attack carried out by Al Shabaab extremists.
