“Kyakara took advantage and lured the victim with a two hundred coin to the nearest bushes where he defiled her,” explained the area chairperson Judith Rubaramira.

Rubaramira added that when her mother came back she noticed that the victim was walking with difficulty and on inquiry she was informed about the defilement.

Rubaramira added that she saved the suspect from the angry mob and called police who arrested him and was taken to Kabale police station.

Elly Matte the Kigezi region police spokesperson said that the suspected is being detained at Kabale police station as investigations continue.

The Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Matte however warned parents to always leave the young children attended to by an adult.

This comes in few hours after Ugandans on social media platforms demanded for resignation of the Youth Affairs minister Ronald Kibuule over the “unacceptable” and “outrage” rape remarks.

The Minister told youth in Kajara, Ntungamo District on Saturday, that Police should charge rape victims for inviting the crime.

Kibuule also noted that Police should scrutinize every rape victim’s dress code and if found to have been indecently dressed, the offender should be set free.
