Police in Kabale have arrested 13 Rwandan and Congolese nationals over illegal entry into Uganda.
These were intercepted by police at the Kabale highway roundabout at 2pm yesterday.
They were reportedly travelling in a Malayika bus registration number UAQ 545 T that was headed to Kampala from Kisoro.
Brian Ampaire, the Kabale district police commander, says of the 13 that were arrested, 4 were Congolese and 9 Rwandan.
He says the bus was intercepted after getting information that it was carrying illegal entrants.
The foreigners were identified as Juma Poro Sengi 23, Akudanti Mafara 13, Fidere Lusumba 15 , Dushime Imana Dredi, 18 all Congolese; as well as Elisa Besigyayo 19,Gaspori Sekuya 18, Noah Gatete 20, Alex Dayishimye 20, John Bosco Takarimazi 21, Clement Uwimna 21 and Eric Semiryano 18 all Rwandan nationals.
Ampaire says that police investigations are underway and that the suspects will be arraigned in court and charged with illegal entry into the country.
