Uganda, Netherlands Strengthen Trade Relations

Uganda and the Netherlands have an investment protection agreement that aims at protecting the investments in each other’s country.

During the meeting that took place on Friday at the President’s country home in Rwakitura, Kiruhuura district, Mr. Museveni and the Dutch Ambassador concurred that trade between Uganda and the Netherlands has grown in the recent years courtesy of the increased volume of Ugandan exports to Holland.

Museveni observed that the trade boom in the trade sector in the recent past years is mainly due to export of flowers, fish fillets and tobacco from Uganda to Holland while Dutch investments in Uganda are mainly in the mobile telephone sector and the processing of agricultural produce.
