click geneva; font-size: small;”> In an exclusive interview with Chimpreports, Nambi noted that ladies apply cosmetics in order to cleanse and beautify their bodies and enhance their appearance and their body structures.
The cosmetics specialist however warned women to be alert on the widespread fake products on the market.
“Most of the products that women buy in small quantities and cheaply from vendors are of poor quality than those bought from well established traders,” warned Nambi.
The specialist therefore called upon women to always check thoroughly before buying the products.
“Check expiry dates and the way they are written to avoid fake products,” advised Nambi noting that fake products come with side effects to the skins and lives of the users.
Nambi continued that the fake products have toxins like mercury that reacts easily and may degenerate the melamine pigment from the skin.
The Uganda National Bureau of Standards has always come out to warn Ugandans against buying products from hawkers.
The standards body urges that most of these products are fake and expired and hence harmful to people’s lives.
UNBS therefore advised people to buy only products with the certified marker to avoid counterfeits.
