Uganda Recognized For Pearl Rally Organization

diagnosis geneva;”>According to Juma Nkambwe an official from the Federation of Motorsports clubs in Uganda, during the Confederation of African Countries in Motorsport assembly that sat in Botswana, Uganda was recognized as the second country in Africa in organizing rallies.


”The recognition was based on the 2012 pearl of Africa Uganda rally won by Zambian driver Mohamed Essa,” noted Nkambwe.

Nkambwe added that Uganda had been penalized and had almost lost the hosting rights for the pearl of Africa.

”Coming in 2 position behind Zimbabwe is an achievement and congratulations to the motorsports fraternity’, added Juma Nkambwe.

Nkambwe therefore added that due to financial crisis, Zimbabwe the rally scheduled for this year which gives Uganda a chance to organize the event.

The assembly that sat in Botswana therefore unveiled a six member team including the FMU President George Kagimu who to see how Uganda has managed to develop the game.

The committee will be looking upon a new format of developing and sustaining the game of motorsport in Africa since Uganda is among the countries that have renovated the game to its development.

Meanwhile Kenya’s Surinder Chatti was elected unopposed again on the presidency of Confederation of African Countries in Motorsports.
