Uganda Fails Test In South Africa Motocross

dosage geneva; font-size: small;”>On a warm and sunny first day of spring the host contingent, site consisting of an official South African team selected by hosts Motorsport South Africa as well as independent local riders, proved to be too strong for the visitors, winning all but one of the eight classes, each of which had three heats during the day.

Uganda again failed the test on foreign land as it has always been for the team save for last year’s win in Nairobi. They failed any podium place though 14man team left promising amidst financial crisis.

At least Fortune Ssentamu managed top five but Ahammed Tamale, one of the team members said , “weather in South Africa couldn’t favour us – that is why we failed but at least we had lesson from the event”.

However Tamale is confident that the team is having a bright future since the young players are growing confidence in local and international tournaments.

South African won the overall competition with 622 points to the 354 of Zimbabwe and the 353 of Zambia. Uganda was fourth with 145 points, followed by Kenya with 107 and Angola with 7.
