“The order that is signed by the registrar states that government is restrained from recognizing or holding out FUFA Ltd and / or any other National Football Associations as the only recognized National Football Associations,” he observes.

“Whereas the statement in the letter from Muwema and Mugerwa Advocates implies that FUFA Ltd or any other National football Association should not be recognized as the only recognized National Football Association.”

Nyombi’s letter, which ChimpSport has seen, seems to suggest that there was a ploy by Muwema and Mugerwa Advocates to misinterpret the court injunction to serve their interests.

The Government legal adviser further added: “So FUFA Ltd can be recognized by government. What is prohibited by the order is recognizing FUFA Ltd as the only National Football Association.”

Nyombi’s legal opinion also ends speculation that the court injunction had brought to an end the operations of FUFA and FUFA Ltd.

“Paragraph 2 of the court order does not prohibit government from recognizing facilitation or in any way supporting the ongoing election process of the new office bearers of FUFA ltd slated from the 31st of August 2013,” Nyombi concluded.
