All 12 NRM contestants that had shown interest in parliamentary seat for the newly created Ibanda Municipality have been nominated at ruling party officed in Kampala.
The contestants were welcomed back from the capital on Tuesday and are now set for the joint campaigns which will start on May 10th run up to 23rd.
The NRM candidates are Peter Agaba, Deus Mulinde, Tarsis Rwaburindore Bishanga, Arthur Niwagaba, Lawrence Niwagira, Fred Spanner, Robert Kiromba, Leticia Tuheebwe, Innocent Mwiine, Ignatius Igundura, Benard Mazirwe Kakwene and John Mugenyi.
Four people have also been cleared to vie for the Ibanda Municipality Mayoral seat after presenting their documents to the NRM officials in Kyadondo.
Those in the mayoral seat are; Amon Mwijukye, Apollo Mwiine Kibeherere, Gilbert Mukama and Dr. Louis Kabwoine.
Ibanda was one of the 19 Municipalities created by Parliament in 2015 to “improve administration and delivery of services to the people.”
According to the NRM roadmap, the primaries will be held on May 25.
