Mrs Katuramu was posted to president’s office in the recent reshuffle from the Health Service Commission where she had been Secretary for five years.

Mitala on Monday described Mrs Kinalwa as a ‘diligent, honest, and hard working public officer,’ who was leaving behind a formidable team she nurtured over the years.

He particularly praised her for leaving the service without any blemishes saying she was ‘respectful to everybody, and honest in prudent public financial management.’

“Mrs. Kinalwa has been a courageous officer with the president, and who told the truth the authority,” Mitala added.

President’s office is one of the public service ministries without “ghost employees,” Kinalwa said in a brief farewell address to senior staff, led by the Under Secretary Hajji Yunus Kakande.

Mitala urged public servants to always be truthful, and firm when taking decisions that affect the public which they should be able to own and defend, instead of looking for scapegoats.
