NRM Rebels’ Case: Kanyeihamba Thrown Out Court

page geneva;”>Drama started unfolding on Tuesday morning when lawyers representing NRM at the Constitutional Court in Kampala, medicine asked Kanyeihamba to table his practicing license before the judges.

Kanyeihamba suddenly became speechless.

Efforts aimed at retrieving the license from a heap of papers on his desk flopped, compelling the judges to postpone the hearing to 8 days.

Justices Steven Kavuma, Remmy Kasule and Augustine Nshiime ruled that Kanyeihamba should not appear in the same court again when the hearing resumes on June 12 without the legal practice document.

They also overruled the MPs’ lawyer, Medard Ssegona, who had requested for 14 days to obtain the required documents.

NRM insists fired MPs, Theodore Ssekikuubo, Barnabus Tinkasiimire, Wilfred Niwagaba and Mohamed Nsereko should quit Parliament.

Speaker Rebecca Kadaga has since refused to consider the ruling party’s Secretary General, Amama Mbabazi’s letter requesting her to expel the MPs from the House.

The MPs were recently sacked from NRM for opposition official positions of the party, attacking NRM leaders in public and campaigning for rival candidates in by-elections.
