“This day helps to deepen the understanding of the values of cultural diversity and promotes the notion of living together,” noted Madada.
He noted that Uganda is endowed with 65 indigenous communities which symbolize cultural diversity.
Madada further noted that the day will be celebrated under the theme of creative industries which is a strategy for wealth and employment creation.
“Our intention is to grow and expose the potential of the creative industries to provide incomes, employment and economic growth,” stressed Madada.
He also noted that creative goods and services contributed Shs 12.6 billion in tax revenue between 2006 and 2009.
“However despite this potential, the creative potential in Africa still remains underutilized,” stressed the state minister.
