The first-ever national pork expo is going down this weekend at Namboole national stadium.
The two-day event put together by food network is set to merge hot-off-the-grill experiences with music.
According to Mark Kaheru the chief chef, 10,000kgs of pork have been earmarked for the D-day.
“We are ready to prepare 16 dishes from pork on that day and they will be Whole pig on a spit, Pork kikalayi, pork stew, pork ribs, pork chops pan seared, pork trottens, pork ears, pork skewers, tropical pork skewers, pork samosas, pork Rolex, pork roll, pork shawled, honey glazed ribs, pork sausages.”
During a press conference on Wednesday, Kaheru revealed that the event is not only about pork but an exhibition of food products too.
We have also learnt that there will be a training session on new technology for pig keeping.
“The training session is meant to teach Ugandans how they can earn big from pig farming and earn a living hence strengthen the economy,” Kaheru said.
NBS TV spinner DJ Mark has been confirmed as one of the entertainers at the event.
