Police in Kampala last night arrested a total of 108 suspected hard core criminals in a night operation.
A joint team of security commanded led by the Commander Kampala Metropolitan Police CP Moses Kafeero carried out what was described as an intelligence-led operation along Northern bypass.
The operation, Police says, was carried out after complaints from the public of thugs along the Northern bypass.
The operation covered areas of Kawempe, Wandegeya /Kalerwe, Kyebando, Kisasi, and Kiira road, with most suspects picked up along Northern bypass.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman Onyango Patrick says the suspects were found with exhibits that included marijuana, suspected stolen phones, breaking implements and knives.
They are detained at Kawempe, Kira Road and Wandegeya Police Stations.
The suspects are pending screening and Court respectively.
