100 Sent to Luzira Over Narcotics

On Monday afternoon, Nateete Magistrates Court charged and remanded to Luzira over 100 people on charges of possession of marijuana and hanging out in areas where narcotics are illegally sold

The suspects, women and men of various ages, appeared before Magistrate Joel Wagoye but didn’t take plea on possession of narcotics because the Magistrate lacks jurisdiction to hear such cases.

The group only took plea on being found in places where narcotics are sold.

They all denied these charges, and are set to appear before the chief magistrate to take plea on the possession charges.

These were remanded until the 26th/September to present their respective bail applications.

The accused   were arrested in a Police operation which was carried out in areas of Nateete with much focus on  ‘Mabiito’  in Lubaga division Kampala district  to clamp down on idleness and  the crime rate in the area.
