Mbarara: Man Collapses Dead at PostBank

A middle aged man collapsed and died Monday afternoon in central Mbarara Municipality under unclear circumstances.

The deceased, sick Robert Mpiima fell dead in a car he was he was driving, outside PostBank Mbarara Branch.

The vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser VX Registration Number UAS 205D, it seems didn’t belong to him but his unidentified employer.

Police says Mr Mpiima had been sent by the boss to the bank to deposit some Shs. 7million.

Eyewitnesses say after banking the money, he left the banking hall and entered the vehicle, before collapsing and dying instantly.

The deceased according to documents found on him, was from Mpererwe in Kampala district.

He was born June 5, 1985.

The police spokesperson for the Rwizi Region Samson Kasasira says the cause of the death of Mpiima would have to be established by pathologists.

The body was put on a police truck and taken to the mortuary at Mbarara Referral Hospital.
