Magogo: I convinced Mulindwa to Stand for Cecafa Presidency

Uganda Cranes boss Milutin ‘Micho’ has released a list of 25 players to begin training for the upcoming Cecafa senior challenge cup that takes place from November 21st to December 6th in Ethiopia.

KCCA FC new star Nelson Ssenkatuka has been given a maiden chance on the big stage. The impressive youngster has scored three goals so far but is faced with stiff competition against league leading scorer, stomach find Ceasar Okhuti and last year golden boot hero Robert Ssentongo.

Police fc custodian Darius Kisembo has been summoned together with Cranes teenage sensation James Alitho, medications no rx Mathias Kigonya and Ismael Watenga.

Tanzanian based Murshid Jjuuko and ST. George striker Brian Umony are the only foreign-based players in the squad.

The squad enters training immediately at the African Bible college Lubowa. Only 20 players will make it to the travelling party that leaveson Saturday.

Midfielders:  Ivan Ntege, Muzamir Mutyaba, Martin Kizza, Erisa Sekisambu, Ibrahim Kiyemba, Keziron Kizito, Farouk Miya.

Strikers: Robert Ssentongo, Brian Umony, Nelson Senkatuka, Ceasar Okhuti, Frank Kalanda.
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations, ed Fufa president Eng. Moses Magogo has revealed the role he played in fronting predecessor who is also the honorary Fufa president Lawrence Mulindwa, more about to vie for Cecafa presidency.

“it was my own personal idea to convince Mr. Lawrence Mulindwa to go for the presidency (Cecafa). We discussed the issue at the executive level and believe he has the ability to take the region to another level, buy more about ” Fufa president told journalists during the weekly press conference held at Mengo.

The president said that he will be travelling to Ethiopia together with his first vice president Mr. Darius Mugoya ahead of the elections to be held on November 20th in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

“Their was a misconception from a section of the media that we (Fufa) shall not support Lawrence. But i want to categorically state that we are fully behind him. Infact its the federation that nominated him.”

The Vipers SC patron joined the regional body in November2013 and was appointed to deputise current president Leonard Tenga nine months ago. Tenga took over the reigns from Ugandan Dennis Obua in 2007.

Apart from Tenga and Mulindwa, the race will also have Ferwafa president ), Vincent Nzamita, Sudan’s Khamal Shaddad and Juneydi Basha (Ethiopia).
