Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has moved to demolish part of the Nyondo club structure located in Najjanankumbi, along Entebbe Road.
According to UNRA officials, the said structure is in the road reserve that the authority resolved to take down.
The move is reportedly aimed at decongesting the city and its suburbs after several warnings to the encroachers.
In a press conference held last Thursday at UNRA offices in Nakawa, the head of Enforcement noted that the exercise will first cover Entebbe road, from Kibuye Round about to Entebbe Airport, after which, it will be rolled out to other national roads including those in the Kampala Metropolitan.
Reliable information from officials indicates that the move to take down part of Nyondo club will affect the structure that holds their outdoor screen and aluminum accessories.
ChimpLyf has further learnt that the club proprietors asked for two days to move and put in order some of the valuable items, a request that was duly granted by the UNRA officials.
