It was a glamorous evening on Friday May 5th at Kampala Serena hotel as Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) hosted the participants in the 2017 ACIA awards gala to a splendid dinner.
Started by UCC in 2010, viagra 40mg ACIA awards are intended to encourage individuals, diagnosis academia, government agencies and other entities to harness ICTs in creating solutions to Uganda’s development challenges.
The night’s emcee Flavia Tumusiime opened the event at around 8:00pm giving the already present guests and innovators a recap of what had been transpiring since the exhibition began on May 24th.
At the time, the invited individuals were still strolling in as the thrilling vocals of Janzi Band were lighting up the atmosphere.
At the event, awards given to the two best teams of the nine categories which included, among others, Business Excellence Award, Young ICT Innovators Award and Digital Content Award.
Eng. Godfrey Mutabazi, the Executive Director of UCC, gave the opening remark by applauding the participants for the wonderful innovations they developed and showcased at the fest.
“I am really impressed by what these individuals are capable of doing; it gives an impression that as a country we have a future in technology.”
Mutabazi further encouraged the participating innovators to keep developing ideas that will help in developing our economy through agriculture and promoting culture.
Frank K. Tumwebaze, the Minister for ICT and National Guidance who was the guest of honour, revealed to the participants that the government is committed to support innovations since at the moment ICT is the engine of economy.
Songbird Juliana Kanyomozi also hit the stage to entertain revelers with some of her hit songs like “I am Still Here”, “Kalibatanyi” and “Kibaluma”.
The event culminated into an award ceremony.
