National Resistance Movement Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba has asked party members in Kisoro district to put aside their political differences and work together for community development.

Speaking on Friday at the belated Kisoro district NRM 31st anniversary celebrations held  at

Kabindi Primary school, Lumumba urged locals to continue supporting the ruling party, even in the coming LC elections, noting that the NRM has proven over the years that it is the only one that can keep all Ugandans safe and unified.

At the event, the party SG revealed party plans to reward villages that voted highest for President Yoweri Museveni in last year’s general elections.

Each village, as promised will be given a cow by June this year, according to Mrs Lumumba.

In Kisoro district, Lumumba pointed out two villages; Mutanda where Museveni got 100% of the vote and Mubuga village in Bufumbira south where he scored 96%.

The former she said will be given a boat to ease transport on Lake Mutanda, instead of the cow.

She was speaking on response to the area MP Sam Bitangaro who noted that the locals played their part and voted for Museveni and that it was time for government to do its own in return.

The MP pointed out a number of roads that need to be paved such as the Kisoro –Nteko –Rubuguri road which is a tourism road.
