Day Two: Full House as Uganda Cranes Training Intensifies

Uganda Cranes continued with the preparations for the crucial encounter against neighbors Rwanda in the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifier with intensive training.

Under the stewardship of interim coaches Moses Basena and Fred Kajjoba, the team was boosted with more players attending training on Thursday at Mandela National stadium.

Unlike the first session on Wednesday where only 14 players out of the 25 summoned showed up, this time round it was full house with only Erisa Sekisambu and Savio Kabugo missing out.

The Vipers contingent that missed day one because of a friendly game with Mbarara City at Kakyeka stadium on Wednesday took part in the Thursday drills.

These include; goalkeeper Ismail Watenga, Nico Wakiro Wadada, Deus Bukenya,Moses Waiswa,Milton Karisa and Frank Tumwesigye “Zaga”

Onduparaka duo of Rashid Toha and striker Muhammad Shaban was also part of training.

The others included KCCA FC left back Isaac Muleme and goalkeeper Thomas Ikara from Kirinya Jinja SS.

Uganda takes on Rwanda on August 12 in the first leg at St. Mary’s stadium Kitende before a return leg in Kigali a week later.

The winner on aggregate will represent the Cecafa region at the 2018 CHAN final tournament to be held in Kenya.

Goalkeepers: Benjamin Ochan, Ismail Watenga, Tom Ikara and Keni Saidi

Defenders : John Adriko, Bernard Muwanga,Timothy Denis Awanyi, Paul Musamali, Isaac Muleme, Nico Wakiro Wadada and  Rashid Toha.

Midfielders : Nicolas Kasozi, Muzamiru Mutyaba, Shafiq Kagimu, Simon Sserunkuma, Deus Bukenya, Tom Masiko, Frank ‘Zagga’ Tumwesigye and Moses Waiswa.

Strikers : Nelson Sentakuka, Paul Mucureezi,Derrick Nsibambi and Muhammed Shaban.
