According to his co-driver, Gihan De Silver, they would love to defend their title but it’s hard as both have business commitments.

“Jas is out of the country, so, we couldn’t register for the rally in Masaka,” recounts De Silver.

Mangat didn’t turn-up for the Nile Special USPA Awards dinner at Imperial Royale hotel and their award (best rally crew of the year 2013) was picked by Gihan.

After MPU Masaka Challenge Rally, Mangat will be left with just four rally events to defend the National rally championship title for the third year running.

Meanwhile, 31 rally drivers registered to take part in this rally with Ronald Ssebuguzi and Duncan Mubiru leading the chart.

The two-day 290km event will cover districts of Masaka, Lwengo, Kalungu and Bukomansimbi.
