Cyber Security Africa which is organizing the conference said he discussion will centre on key security issues on banking systems, software, mobile banking, cards and payments, fraud and risk management solutions.

It will also explore solutions to banking fraud, IT security threats, risk and regulatory issues affecting financial institutions, government agencies and other organizations.

The event follows last month’s study report by Delloitte indicating that Uganda leads the rest of the countries in the region in Cheque-related fraud cases.

The country also come number one, in cases of fraud related with accounting, mortgages and financial statements.

The report highly recommended enhancement of security systems to match with modern products on the market and to protect bank customers from fraudsters especially during Electronic Fund Transfers

Cyber Security Africa alliance manager Mr. Sammy Kioko said the conference would attract players in the financial services market, information technology security providers and even government agencies.

He said delegates from different fields globally would identify the technical, environmental and business risks that lead to service vulnerability, weaken consumer confidence and ultimately erode brand value, thus causing revenue declines.

“The summit will discuss ideas on articulating and implementing appropriate risk management strategies, how to optimise internal processes and ensure systems and hardware infrastructures are robust enough to mitigate risk,” Kioko concluded.
